Dr. Erickson COVID-19 Briefing ― Bakersfield doctors explain why wearing masks/gloves is a bad idea

Updated: Nov 22, 2020

These two doctors with degrees in immunology and 30+ years experience California, who have been operating one of the main testing centres in the Bakersfield area, explain the actual numbers and test results surrounding Covid19.

“We’ve never seen where you quarantine the healthy—where you take those without disease and without symptoms and you lock them in your home.”

Dr. Dan Erickson and Dr. Artin Massihi, are co-owners of Accelerated Urgent Care in California. For some reason, YouTube and Facebook seem to be threatened by the advice of these doctors actually working in the field collecting the numbers, meeting with patients, and understanding the "spread".

We ask, what right do private companies have to censor information being provided by real doctors just because it goes against the "official agenda" being used to propagandize people on the mainstream media?

Doctors Dan Erickson and Artin Massihi own Accelerated Urgent Care, the largest coronavirus testing site in Kern County.

Their key argument: “Do we need to still shelter in place? Our answer is emphatically no. Do we need business to be shut down? Emphatically no.”

Their statements caught the attention of Elon Musk, who tweeted his support.

They explain that there is no need to continue with a lock-down now that we have more data and experience with the virus. Lockdown vs. non-lockdown has not shown a statistically significant difference in case outcome, so there is no sufficient reason left to continue to destroy the economy from these extreme measures.

In fact, they say, isolation will actually weaken everyone's immune system and cause MORE sickness which will then overwhelm the system once the lockdown ends, especially with hospitals furloughing staff and closing entire floors from lack of patients. Once people get re-exposed to all kinds of infections that they would normally have easily fought off with no big deal, will suddenly get sick at the very start of the next flu season in October.

They point out that 96-98% of people testing positive will have very mild or no symptoms at all. Of the 4% who die after testing positive, fully 90% of that group have been shown to have comorbidity factors such as heart failure, emphysema, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, diabetes, HIV, and they are almost all on immunosuppressive drugs and are immunodeficient to begin with.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Doctors, scientists and government officials across the world have encouraged — even ordered — people to stay home to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus.

Now, two doctors in Kern County are sharing a differing opinion. They say sheltering in place is doing more harm than good.

Doctors Dan Erickson and Artin Massihi of Accelerated Urgent Care refuse to wear masks outside. They say the longer people stay inside, the more their immune system drops. They’re calling for Kern County to reopen immediately.

“If you have no symptoms, you should be able to return to work,” Erickson said Wednesday.

“Are you an asymptomatic viral shedder? Maybe. But we can’t test all of humanity … the major events, the sporting events, these are nonessential. Let’s get back to those slowly. Let’s start with schools.”

Erickson said COVID-19 is similar to the flu in prevalence and death rate. His numbers, however, don’t mesh with statistics released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

“Is the flu less dangerous than COVID? No, it’s not. They’re similar in prevalence and in death rate,” Erickson said.

But their numbers don’t agree with stats from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

According to the CDC, there were more than 35.5 million flu infections during the 2018 to 2019 season. Of those, 34,200 people died from the flu. That’s a death rate of 0.1 percent.

As of April 23, nearly 49,000 people have died from the new coronavirus out of a reported 865,585 infections. That’s a death rate of 5.6 percent.

[But that assumes that all of those infected have been counted or wish to get tested. If the estimates are true that only of 1/10th or 1/20th of those infected have actually been tested and who would likely test positive, then the denominator becomes that much greater meaning the current death rate is overstated by a factor of 10 or 20, or even more. Thus, the actual mortality rate is quite likely closer to that of the seasonal flu at 0.28% - 0.56%.

In fact, Dr. Fauci wrote in March 2020 that the actual death rate will likely be closer to 0.1% when all the numbers are counted, putting Covid19 on par with a bad flu season.

See this article published by Dr. Anthony Fauci on March 26, 2020 in the New England Journal of Medicine. Covid-19 — Navigating the Uncharted where he writes:

On the basis of a case definition requiring a diagnosis of pneumonia, the currently reported case fatality rate is approximately 2%. In another article in the Journal, Guan et al. report mortality of 1.4% among 1099 patients with laboratory-confirmed Covid-19; these patients had a wide spectrum of disease severity. If one assumes that the number of asymptomatic or minimally symptomatic cases is several times as high as the number of reported cases, the case fatality rate may be considerably less than 1%. This suggests that the overall clinical consequences of Covid-19 may ultimately be more akin to those of a severe seasonal influenza (which has a case fatality rate of approximately 0.1%) or a pandemic influenza (similar to those in 1957 and 1968) rather than a disease similar to SARS or MERS, which have had case fatality rates of 9 to 10% and 36%, respectively.2

[Thus, Trump's chief medical officer told us already what he expects of this crisis. If it is to be on par with the flu, then why the lockdown? ]

“As I shelter in place, my immune system drops. You keep me there for months, it drops more—and now I’m at home handwashing vigorously, washing the counters, worried about things that I need to survive,” Erickson explained.

They’re also concerned about domestic effects of staying at home.

“The secondary effects—the child abuse, alcoholism, loss of revenue—all these are, in our opinion, a significantly more detrimental thing to society than a virus that is proven in similar in nature to the flu,” Erickson said.

It’s important to note their claims are based on data from the past two months, not long-term scientific studies.

“Scientific studies, double-blind clinical controlled trials take years. We are doing the best with the data we have. This is all common knowledge you can find online,” Erickson said.

“Do we need to still shelter in place? Our answer is emphatically no. Do we need business to be shut down? Emphatically no.”
